The holidays are here again. A late Thanksgiving this year means there’s less than four weeks between Turkey Day and Christmas. While that can understandably make some of us a little crazy, especially those of us who will be doing a great deal of cooking and entertaining over the next month, it’s an opportunity for families and friends to spend quality time together. Of course, it’s also an opportunity for travel.

This year, we’re thankful for emerging destinations such as Greenland and Georgia, because our wanderlust knows no bounds. We’re thankful for the growing number of partners and places that have made a commitment to sustainability. We’re thankful that even though parts of the Bahamas were devastated by Hurricane Dorian, many of the islands were spared and the overall hurricane season wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been. We’re thankful to be able to enjoy our national parks after a government shutdown closed them for several weeks at the beginning of the year.
We’re thankful for partners we know we can trust to take care of our travelers when we send them out into the world. These extensions of ourselves on the ground are always working behind the scenes to ensure your experience is as smooth as possible, whether that means rerouting flights because of air traffic control strikes or adjusting itineraries because of protests in Chile or Hong Kong. Of course we want you to have a great experience and stories to tell when you get back, but most importantly we want to make sure you get back safely to the loved ones you’ll share those stories with.
